What do I do if my fuel cards don’t arrive?

If you haven’t received it within two weeks, please contact Maxxia immediately to prevent any unauthorised activity.
How do I activate my fuel card(s)?
1. BP Fuel Card
Within five business days of receiving your card, you’ll also receive a separate 4-digit PIN. (For security reasons, your PIN is sent separately.) You will need to use this PIN the first time you use your card. After this, you can change your PIN at the service counter at any BP station.
2. Shell Fuel Card
Your Shell Card will let you choose your own PIN. Simply follow these steps when using your card for the first time:
- Insert or swipe your fuel card and enter your odometer data.
- When prompted, pick and input a 4-digit PIN of choice and press enter.
- Confirm your PIN by entering it a second time and pressing enter.
- Your card’s PIN is now set up.
- Ensure your PIN is kept secure by not telling anyone, writing it down anywhere or storing it near your Shell Card.
3. Ampol Fuel Card
Your Ampol Card will let you choose your own PIN.
- Ensure your PIN is kept secure by not writing it down anywhere or storing it near your Ampol Card.
What if I have a self-managed lease?
Employees with a self-managed lease(s) are responsible for their own budgeting and bill payments (including servicing), which are reimbursed once a claim has been submitted (provided there is a sufficient account balance).
We will set up your new Maxxia account using the budgets and balances provided to us by your previous provider. Please see our Fully Maintained Novated Lease vs Self-Managed Lease comparison for more information about novated leasing with Maxxia.
Novated Leasing – Insurance Information
What happens to my comprehensive vehicle insurance?
It is important that you maintain comprehensive motor vehicle insurance at all times throughout your lease. As the vehicle owner, the onus is on you to ensure continued cover.
When a novated lease is transitioned, your current insurance will expire if you arranged it through your previous lease provider. If you arranged your own insurance, your policy will continue as is.
To ensure your vehicle remains insured if you arranged it through your previous lease provider, you have two options moving forward:
1. Switch to an Allianz policy administered by us- you must have received separate correspondence from Maxxia regarding this offer to take this option, or;
2. You can choose to source your own comprehensive car insurance on terms required by the lease provided you inform us.
Option 1: Continue to pay insurance premiums through your lease payments by switching to Allianz.
If you have received separate correspondence from Maxxia offering you Allianz insurance, and you’d like to take advantage of this offer, you don’t need to do anything. We do recommend, however, you thoroughly read the correspondence from us, and take any action accordingly. The terms and conditions of the Comprehensive Car Insurance cover offered by Allianz are set out in the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).
Option 2: Source your own insurance, pay directly and claim back.
If you do not want to take out Comprehensive Car Insurance with Allianz, you will need to tell us and obtain alternative insurance in accordance with the terms of your lease. Once you have obtained your own insurance, you will need to provide us with confirmation of your new policy and arrange to submit a claim for reimbursement of that payment. As mentioned, you are required to be insured at all times throughout the term of your lease.
If you have received an offer from Maxxia re Allianz insurance, and you do not wish to automatically switch to Allianz for your Comprehensive Car Insurance, you must inform us via email to [email protected] before you transition to Maxxia.
What about my other car insurances?
If you have any other novated lease products or insurance products included in your novated lease such as “Scratch and Dent” or “Rim and Tyre” insurances you will need to confirm with your current provider if these will continue for the term of your finance arrangement or if they will cease.
These insurances do not transfer to Maxxia.
What happens to my Roadside Assistance?
If your previous provider have advised Maxxia that you have Roadside Assistance arranged through them, your cover will cease at the time of transition.
Maxxia can provide cover for you from the time of transition via our provider at $6.50 per vehicle, per month, so you now have two options:
- If you would like to keep this coverage there is nothing you need to do, simply click here to view our roadside assistance brochure and make sure our product suits your needs.
- If you would like to discontinue with our cover as you have your own, or our cover is not suited to you, please email [email protected] asap to advise us that you wish to cancel.
I’ve transferred to Allianz, where can I find more information about my cover?
For information about your Allianz cover, please visit www.maxxia.com.au/insurance/novated-lease.
